Winter is Here: Triumph split the points with the Mingos

On Saturday evening, the Greenville Triumph took on the Flamingos of Forward Madison in their snowy home opener. After a 30 minute delay to kickoff, the two team’s battled in what can only be described as a tale of two halves. At the end of the 90 minutes, however, neither side was able to notch the go-ahead goal and instead split points in a 0-0 draw. Triumph Fall in Home Stand Finale

It was a disappointing end to an otherwise excellent first home stand as the Greenville Triumph fell to the Richmond Kickers last Saturday in near arctic conditions. Ok, so maybe it was not that cold, but it was chilly. While Greenville looked the better team in the first half, it was Richmond who was able to frustrate the Triumph attack in the second 45′ and earn the full three points thanks to an incredible Joe Gallardo goal in the 49th minute.
